In the summer and fall months, the Long Islands wine country is filled with many visitors, looking to taste the new crop and enjoy the beautiful coastal air. Many come in groups, especially in the fall, at Harvest time, and take advantage of the music festivals and parties that are held. At that time of the year the weekend is shared between the wineries, pumpkin farms, the hayrides, and the greatest local farm stands.
One thing many visitors may not know, is that the vineyards on Long Island are not for the summer only! For the last 5 years, there has been a winterfest known as Jazz on the Vine. Many of the wineries participate, and this year it is being heldfrom Feb 11 to March 18. There are talented Jazz musicians that perform in the tasting rooms. The admission is $15.00 and it includes a free glass of wine and a chance to win a free night in one of the participating B&B's and Hotels. What better way to get rid of the winter"Blues" than sipping local wines and listening to Jazz.........Just another reason to love Living on Long Island. For more click here.
